Dear Residents,

By now, and after a regrettably rocky start, you should have received your complete election package for 2015. As you will see, there are three positions open and three declared candidates. Your tendency may therefore be to think that you needn’t vote as the election will be uncontested (except in the highly unlikely event that there is a nomination from the floor) and your vote won’t mean anything anyway, so why bother.

WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

It is truly important that you vote because we must achieve a quorum either in person at the annual meeting of Wednesday March 4, or by proxy. Without a quorum, there will be no annual meeting and no election. This would result in a giant mess which will cost you money and the Board much unnecessary work.  Last year we accomplished a quorum by just a few and it was touch and go until a few individuals made a concerted push to have residents respond at the last minute. Much needless angst!!

We anticipate having an interesting annual meeting. In addition to a State of the Arbors Update by the Board of Directors, we will feature a presentation by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, with a scheduled appearance by a K-9 unit.  So try to attend if you can.

But if you can’t attend, please vote by mailing in your proxy and ballot so that it arrives at the office of the management company by Tuesday March 3, preferably earlier. As a matter of fact, why not fill out the forms and put the package in the mail right now so you won’t forget. Place the ballot in the envelope marked “BALLOT”and seal it, and put that envelope plus your executed proxy form into the Proxy Return Envelope, indicate your lot # and address on the front of that envelope, then mail.

Please help your Board keep the community well-run and looking great.

With thanks,

The Arbors Board of Directors
